The song "Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus " was written by Lousia M.R. Stead who came from England to live in Cincinatti, Ohio in 1871. She attended a campmeeting in Urbana,
Ohio and committed her life to serving as a missionary. Louisa married in 1875 , and she and her husband had a little girl , Lily. When Lily was just 4 years old , her parents took her for a beach picnic to Long Island Sound in New York While they were eating , a drowing boy cried for help. Mr. Stead ran into the water to save him but , as so often happens, the struggling boy pulled Mr. Stead under the water with him. They both drowned as Louisa and Lily watched. In the days that followed , Louisa wrestled with her grief and struggles with God concerning "Why" and finally wrote the song …"Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus "....
Trust ! It's a tough thing sometimes . At times the journey is filled with hard-learned lessons but , every day , in every in every situation and every problem , you can trust Him with it . Even in times of fear and uncertainty , you can still trust Him. The Psalmist
said in Psalm 56:3 , "What time I am afraid , I will trust in thee ." It is true that , we won't
always have an answer to the "Why" questions but , God's ways are higher than ours and we can always trust Him. Whatever you may be going through today , know that He will see you through and work out it out for your good !
